زمینه: گرایش­های اخیر به غذاهای عملگرا و ترکیبات غذا- دارویی، بیانگر نقش مهم مولکول‌های زیست­فعال در درمان بیماری­های انسانی است. در مطالعه اخیر، برخی خصوصیات فیتوشیمیایی و غذا- دارویی عصاره میوه زیزیفوس نومولاریا برداشت شده از جنگل­های پشت­پر دشتستان مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت.
مواد و روش‌ها: فعالیت آنتی‌اکسیدانی با روش ۲،۲-دی فنیل-۱-پیکریل هیدرازیل (DPPH) و محتوای فنلی کل عصاره میوه زیزیفوس نومولاریا با اسپکتروفتومتری مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. متابولیت­های ثانویه آن با روش GC-MS شناسایی گردیدند. فعالیت ضدمیکروبی عصاره آبی آن با استفاده از روش میکرودیلوشن در برابر باکتری­های گرم مثبت استافیلوکوکوس اورئوس و باسیلوس سرئوس، باکتری­های گرم منفی اشریشیا کلی و سالمونلا تیفی، قارچ آسپرژیلوس نایجر و مخمر کاندیدا آلبیکنس، مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفتند.
یافته‌ها: آنالیز GC-MS نمونه، تعداد 51 ترکیب شیمیایی با ساختارهای شیمیایی و زیست­فعال مختلف مانند آلکالوئیدها، ترپن‌ها و استروئیدها را نشان داد. براساس نتایج، عصاره زیزیفوس فعالیت مهاری و کشنده قابل توجهی را در برابر سویه­های میکروبی مورد مطالعه نشان داد و عصاره، دارای بیشترین فعالیت ضدمیکروبی در برابر مخمر کاندیدا آلبیکنس بود. وجود ترکیبات ضد میکروبی شناسایی شده توسط GC-MS، نتایج فعالیت ضد باکتریایی عصاره را تأیید نمود.
نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به نتایج، عصاره زیزیفوس نومولاریا می‌تواند منبع زمینی مناسبی از ترکیبات ضدمیکروبی با عملکرد قابل‌توجهی در برابر پاتوژن‌های غذایی باشد. براساس مطالعات، متابولیت­های ثانویه عصاره زیزیفوس، دارای اثرات نوتریسیتیکال و بیولوژیکی بالقوه­ای هستند که به مطالعات آزمایشگاهی بیشتری نیازمند است.
