زمینه: هدف پژوهش حاضر تعیین رابطه بین سلامت روان و اختلال استرس پس از سانحه با نقش میانجی صفات شخصیت در زلزله‌زدگان بوشهر بود.
مواد و روش‌ها: جامعه آماری کلیه اشخاصی بودند که زلزله 2/6 شهر شنبه در استان بوشهر در سال ۱۳۹۰ ورا تجربه کرده بودند. از میان آنها ۴۰۰ نفر به روش تصادفی چند مرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای استفاده شده در این پژوهش شامل پرسشنامه صفات شخصیتی نئو، سلامت روان (GHQ) و مقیاس اختلال پس از سانحه بودند. ارزیابی الگوی پیشنهادی با استفاده از الگویابی معادلات ساختاری انجام گرفت.
یافته‌ها: شاخص‌های برازش نشان دادند که مدل پیشنهادی برازنده داده‌ها بوده است. نتیجه‌ها نشان دادند که سلامت روان به صفات شخصیت به‌صورت مستقیم و به‌صورت غیرمستقیم از طریق صفات شخصیت به اختلال استرس پس از سانحه ارتباط داشته است. از میان صفات شخصیت تنها روان رنجوری و گشودگی معنی‌دار بودند.
نتیجه‌گیری: در واقع یافته‌های پژوهش نشان دادند، برخورداری از سلامت روان به همراه صفات شخصیتی راه‌حلی برای تسکین نشانگان PTSD بوده است و افراد دارای سلامت روانی با صفات شخصیتی مثبتی چون گشودگی به تجربه، احتمال بروز و شدت علائم PTSD در آنها کاهش می‌یابد.
