زمینه: تغییر شیوه تغذیه نوزادان در سال‌های اخیر و روند رو به رشد استفاده از شیر خشک در آنها باعث اهمیت بیشتر توجه به کیفیت شیر خشک‌های مصرفی و ارزیابی سلامت در آنها شده است. این محصول با پاتوژن‌های باکتریایی زیادی از جمله باسیلوس سرئوس آلوده می‌شود که وجود این باکتری در شیر خشک به علت گروه سنی مصرف کننده و بیماری‌زایی این باکتری در شیر خشک حائز اهمیت می‌باشد. هدف از این پژوهش یررسی فراوانی آلودگی شیر خشک‌های مصرفی نوزادان در بخش NICU به باسیلوس سرئوس بود.

مواد و روش‌ها: در یک مطالعه توصیفی مقطعی، طی هشت ماه در سال 93-1392، تعداد 125 نمونه شیر خشک که جهت تغذیه نوزادان در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه نوزادان (NICU) بیمارستان‌ها استفاده می‌شد، از نظر آلودگی به باسیلوس سرئوس مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. جداسازی و شناسایی باسیلوس سرئوس بر اساس پروتکل استاندارد FDA (FDA Method) بر روی محیط اختصاصی باسیلوس سرئوس (MYP Agar) انجام شد.

یافته‌ها: نتایج حاصل از این مطالعه نشان داد از 125 نمونه پودر شیر خشک مورد بررسی،84 نمونه (2/67 درصد) از نظر آلودگی به باسیلوس سرئوس مثبت بودند. همچنین 18 نمونه (4/14 درصد) دارای آلودگی با بیش از یک گونه باسیلوس بودند.

نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به اینکه فرایند پاستوریزه کردن روی اسپورهای باسیلوس سرئوس مؤثر نمی‌باشد، اسپور این باکتری می‌تواند در شیر خشک باقی مانده و برای نوزادان مصرف کننده ایجاد مسمومیت غذایی کند. بدین منظور پیشنهاد می‌گردد توجه بیشتری به کنترل کیفیت واحدهای تولیدی و وارداتی شیر خشک انجام شود.
