Abstract:   (212 Views)
Background: Work-family conflict is a significant challenge for all workers, especially nurses, and can affect the quality of patient care and the nurses' professional and family responsibilities. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between work-family conflict and the quality of nursing care in nurses working in hospitals affiliated with Bushehr University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive-analytical study enrolled 212 nurses working in all clinical departments of hospitals affiliated with Bushehr University of Medical Sciences using random sampling and quota allocation. The data collection tools included a demographic form, Carlson's Work-Family Conflict Questionnaire, and the Quality of Nursing Care Questionnaire (QUALPAC). Independent t-tests, analysis of variance, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data. The significance level was set at 0.05.
Results: The results showed that the level of nursing care quality in the studied nurses was relatively favorable (174.21 ± 28.86) and work-family conflict was notable, especially in the type of work-family interference. Also, a significant relationship was observed between work-family conflict and the quality of nursing care, such that the higher the level of work-family conflict in nurses, the lower the quality of nursing care.
Conclusion: The results showed that the quality of nursing care is related to work-family conflict. Accordingly, strengthening nurses' individual skills in managing roles and time, as well as creating organizational supports such as flexibility in work schedules and conflict management training, can improve the quality of care.
